TIME. A word that is a part of our every day life. We check the time frequently using our watches, smart phones, laptops, or simply look at the clock on the wall for the magic numbers that determines if we are early, late, or arrive. 

How does God manage time? Does he have a big CLOCK in the sky that reveals his plan for our lives? Is there a universal alarm clock waiting patiently to ring? Or are there divine messengers purposely placed here on earth to reveal his mysteries and purpose for mankind.

Have you ever read the biblical story about Elijah and Baal? Elijah was a normal man that was chosen by the God of Israel to bring forth his plan for his people. God called his children prophets because the rulers of ancient times believed in psychics, mediums, sooth-sayers, and or/witchcraft, Which is an abomination against God. 

Deuteronomy 18:14 states ,"For those nations, which you will dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners, but as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so."

The God of Israel desired to separate the prophets from psychics or the like. He used angels and/ or dreams to speak to his children. Elijah was one of God's faithful servants that used his divine gift to call his people into repentance for idolatry. During these ancient times prophets were murdered. Israel was under the rule of an evil king and his wife. They had become tainted by worshiping false gods. In 1 Kings 18:37 Elijah prayed desperately for the people to change their ways.
